As a gift to our loyal Sunshine Plaza shoppers we are giving away hand-made tote bags created by the inspirational team at Kontiki Cultural Women Empowerment.
To claim your gift, visit the service desk at the top of the travelator on Friday 10 May between 10am-2pm. Present a receipt from a Sunshine Plaza retailer and enjoy your new hand-made tote bag. We will be giving away 300 bags so arrive early to avoid disappointment. You will also be able to visit Kontiki who will show you around their space and you may even wish to sign up to a class.
Kontiki Cultural Women Empowerment is a non-profit volunteer organisation dedicated to fostering empowerment among individuals from refugee and migrant backgrounds. The primary objective is to equip participants of all ages with new skills, the capacity to achieve self-reliance, and social integration. This is achieved by using artistic fashion designs and by utilising gara and batik ink tie-dye techniques. Additionally, Kontiki offer comprehensive sewing programs and training tailored to community members, particularly focusing on young adults and youths throughout Victoria.
